Live Audio-Visual Performance by Dirar Kalash

يقدم ضرار كلش أداء فيديو وصوت حي، بإستخدام الأجهزة الالكترونية واللابتوب والالات الموسيقية، يعالج فيه الاحداث اليومية و"التاريخية" و"الاستثنائية" بشكل يعري ممارسات وسياسات العرض والتصوير التي تجانس البشر وتاريخهم، وذلك عن طريق دمج هنا بهناك، الآن بآنذاك، المحلي بالعالمي، الخاص بالعام. وفي النهاية، يقدم العرض الحي الحدث بشموليته غير الممكنة، يقدم تأويلا متجاوزاً قائما بذاته، محولاً التفاصيل إلى حالة كونية.

A live performance that integrates video and sound concerning situations of the everyday life alongside “exceptional" or "historical" events, which are then processed almost in a surgical manner. Inevitably, his work lays bare representational practices that homogenize people and their histories -- by integrating here with there, then with now, local with global, subjective with objective. In the end, the live performance offers the event in it’s impossible totality, creating a transcendent interpretation of its own that trades specifics for a meta-universality.

موسيقي وفنان متعدد المجالات، يعمل بشكل أساسي في مجال الأداء الحي الذي يجمع ما بين النص والصوت والصورة والفيديو والحركة. إضافة إلى ذلك يعمل أيضاً في الموسيقى الحرة الارتجالية والتأليف الموسيقي. وهو مختص في البرامج الحرة والمفتوحة المصدر (free and open source software) التي تستخدم لمعالجة الصوت والصورة في الزمن الآني (real-time). ترتبط أعماله بالواقع اليومي والمعاش كمجموعة ظواهر ومواد، و التي تعتبر المواد الخام للعمل بما فيها من نصوص، صور، أو أصوات، التي من ثم تخضع لعمليات معالجة حية، حيث التأليف، التفكيك والتركيب بما يجاوز الظاهرة بمادتها، زمنها، والاحداث التي تركبها من اليومي إلى الطقوسي، المتجسد في العرض الحي.

Dirar Kalash (b. 1982) works mainly in the field of live performance that combines text, sound, image, video and movement. He specializes in free and open-source software mainly in the field of real-time audio and video and image processing. He's also a multi-instrumentalist, engaged in musical composition and free improvisation.

His work is based on everyday life as a phenomenon, which is then subject to live processing, composition and decomposition, in order to transcend phenomena, its matter and time to a ritualistic live performance.
